A huge welcome back, to all my year 1 children. We are hoping for a fun filled term to help us settle in to our new classroom, and routines.

 

 

 

 

If you have any worries or concerns, then please don’t hesitate to speak to us in a morning when dropping off or after school. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to see us with Mrs. Nicholls at the front office.

Acer Preview Task homework

P.E

Our P.E day is Wednesday afternoon with Mr Allen. Please make sure that your child has their full P.E kit in school, labelled with their name. Children MUST have their earrings taken out/ taped up by yourselves before coming into school in the morning.

Reading

We would like your children to read for 10 minutes every night, please sign the diary every time you read. They will also be sent home with key words that they have been learning in phonics. They will get a new list when they can read them. In a morning, children will put their books in the read or not read box. Children who have read will have a raffle ticket entered to receive a prize on Fridays.

The teachers will listen to your child read in phonics every day and through guided reading (at least twice a week.)

Junk Modelling

We appreciate any items such as cereal boxes, kitchen roll tubes, clean yoghurt pots, bottle tops etc.… for our creative making area.

Homework

Year One Maths homework will be sent out every Wednesday and due in the next Monday.

Spellings for Year One will be given out on Monday and tested on Friday.

Medical

If your child requires medical attention in school, please contact Mrs Nicholls and complete the relevant forms to keep school updated and keep your child safe in school.
